Microblading

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup (SPMU) method used to create super realistic hair stroke brows. It involves using a disposable hand-tool with super fine needles to deposit pigment within the upper dermis layer of the skin to create the illusion of brow hair.

MICROBLADING TREATMENT

Using a state-of-the-art microblading tool, tiny precision hair strokes are created by hand, mimicking the natural direction and lengths of your brows. Pigments are then implanted into the channels created by the microblades in the dermal layer of the skin. The sensation is similar to a little scratch, but you should not feel any discomfort. The treatment area will look 20-30% darker than the colour you have chosen in consultation, but this will fade within 3-4 days to reveal your chosen colour. The treatment generally takes around 1-2 hours and will leave you with highly defined, ultra-realistic looking brows.

THE RETOUCH

A second appointment is needed 4-12 weeks after your first treatment. This is usually a 15-60 minutes appointment to add more pigment to the brow area. This is because as the area is healing, some parts may not ‘hold’ as well as others and you may have a few patches that need more colour. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently. Whatever the case, we advise you always come back to clinic for your retouch.

Advanced microblading Techniques…

  • Ombre Brows, also known as Powder Brows, are a huge hit for clients that prefer a fuller result. They make statement and are a, ‘Power brow,’ amongst the social-media-savvy crowd. ‘Ombrè,’ is a French word meaning, ‘Shade,’ this style gives a soft backdrop of colour, using this technique the tails of the brow are darker slowly fading into a light beginning.

  • The fluffy brow is the perfectly, ‘Unperfect,’ brow; where the hair stokes are brushed up and natural rather than neat and arched. Perfect for clients with less hair. This style of brow mimics and follows the natural hair flow of each brow.

 Microblading FAQs

  • Microblading is a semi-permanent technique used to enhance the appearance of the eyebrows, in which pigment is gently scratched into the skin in fine, short strokes resembling hair and giving the brows a realistic yet fuller appearance.

The effects can last between 1-2 years. The pigment will slowly fade leaving the skin and brows as they were before. This will depend on skin type, products you use and lifestyle. Colour boosts can be booked when you feel a top up is needed, it is down to personal preference.

  • The procedure takes up to 2 hours. It includes a consultation to go through the process and discuss exactly what you are hoping to achieve, we will mark out your new brow shape checking that it you are happy and then start your microblading treatment.

  • A second inclusive top up appointment should be booked within 4-12 weeks after your initial treatment and takes between 15 -60 minutes. This is because as your brows are healing some areas may not hold as well as others and may need a little more colour. This is a completely normal procedure as everyone’s healing process is different. All retouch appointments must be booked within this time you, there will be cost incurred.

  • Certain skin types may find it harder to retain the pigment, these include oily skin and those with large pores. Darker complexions will have a softer result where as lighter completions will show the hair strokes more easily.

  • Numbing cream is used before throughout the treatment to ensure you are comfortable. You may feel mild discomfort but not pain. Many clients have fallen asleep!

  • There are a couple of things that you need to be aware of before any microblading treatment, during the booking process you will be asked a variety of questions in regard to this. It’s important that you don’t have Botox, fillers or a chemical peel for a minimum of two weeks prior to the treatment.

If you have any kind of skin condition or irritation, I always ask my clients to speak to their doctor before coming to see me.

    See pre- treatment advice below.

  • During and after the treatment temporary redness may occur. Immediately after a brow treatment you should expect the area to look significantly sharper and darker than the colour you have chosen in consultation. This will start to fade after day 3-5. Some small scabs may appear with loss of pigment along the drawn stroke. For some people, the brows will seem to lighten a lot, but will start to pull through again within the next few weeks. This process takes up to days. The final result is not fully seen until 6 weeks after your retouch appointment.

  • We recommend that you do not apply make-up, expose the skin to extreme heat, cold or moisture, kiss, apply certain petroleum-based ointments etc immediately after your treatment. We will explain these requirements in full and provide you a printed copy of these aftercare requirements.

  • Please contact us for availability and booking information. In order to secure a preferred date, we take a £100 non-refundable deposit via bank transfer (The deposit will be deducted from the final price of your treatment). Once confirmed, we can book you in for your microblading treatment.

  • A deposit taken to secure your date and is non-refundable, however we understand that plans change, if you need to reschedule your appointment, 7 days’ notice is required. If you are late for your appointment this will interfere with your treatment time and if you are over 15 minutes late your treatment will unfortunately be cancelled and your deposit forfeited, as we need adequate time for optimum results.

  • The microblading treatment is strictly for people of the age of 18 years and older. You may be asked to bring identification.
